The wmicrotracker ARENA is optimized to quantify the locomotor activity of small organisms cultured in either agar or liquid media, using 6-well, 24-well, and 35mm petri microplate formats. The detection system is compatible with most tiny animals such as Zebrafish, C.elegans and related species, artemia salina, among others.
The system has been validated for measuring multiple disease models and conducting microbiota experiments.
- Simple and highly reproducible readings. Detection of infrared microbeam diffraction, without morphometry.
- Non-invasive technology: It uses very low power infrared radiation, without affecting the animals behaviour.
- Environmental control - programmable temperature control of 20 to 37 °C (±1 °C)
- High resolution sensors allow detection of separated organisms 0.5 mm, with more than 20,000 independent & simultaneous channels of reading.
- Fast data processing - calculates the movement in real time, with 5min time blocks resolution.
- Silent with maintenance-free - no mechanical moving parts. Self-regulating temperature
WMicrotracker ARENA uses thousands of microbeams that irradiate the wells at high density, making it possible to detect not only the amount of activity of the target organism but also the position of the target in the medium. The innovative technology uses a principle called optical interferometry to process and quantify the activity of microorganisms and small organisms in real time without the need for a microscope or high-resolution images.
